UHHM Charity premieres groundbreaking documentary

University Hospitals of North Midlands Charity film premiere of hard-hitting film documentary of pioneering and life-saving surgery.

On Thursday 9 th November 2023, UHNM Charity was proud to host a premiere of an extraordinary film, chronicling the remarkable journey of Alison Hough. The film was shown at The North Staffs Medical Institute and provided a unique opportunity to witness the incredible work conducted at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS
Trust.

Alison’s story highlights the profound impact of generous donations on local individuals & access to cutting-edge technology and services, setting a new standard in healthcare excellence within the country.

In 2016, Alison Hough faced a life-altering battle against a cancerous tumour. Her journey led her to the University Hospitals of North Midlands, where she received complex surgeries performed by the exceptional surgeons and team of Mr. George and Mr. Gahir. Their
dedication and expertise marked the beginning of a journey towards recovery, resilience, and hope.

The film, which bears witness to Alison's journey, is an emotional and inspiring exploration of the role that donations to the UHNM Charity play in transforming healthcare services and patient outcomes. The documentary showcases first-hand the impact of the University Hospitals of North Midlands mission to provide the very best technology and patient care in the country.

Alison's extraordinary journey of resilience and her triumph over cancer serve as a testament to the life-changing work that the University Hospitals of North Midlands facilitates. Her story serves as a beacon of hope and a testament to the transformative work

Attended by over 200 individuals from local organisations and businesses. Alison, said she was 'blown away' by the evening, continuing to say 'it's so lovely to be surrounded by friends and family, and to look back on my journey. The work at UHNM is absolutely amazing and I am so grateful for the care I received'.
