Take part in the Potters ‘Arf Marathon for FREE with UHNM Charity

People of all ages and abilities are being given the chance to take part in the Potters ‘Arf Marathon for free this year with UHNM Charity.

The iconic half marathon returns on Sunday 11 June 2023 with UHNM Charity named as one of Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s chosen charities.

That means anybody can line up for free as long as they pledge to raise a minimum of £100 for UHNM Charity’s work to improve patient care and experience at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM)

Entries are now open for runners, relay teams, walkers, walking relay teams and juniors.

Lisa Thomson, Director of Communications and Charity at UHNM said: “We are thrilled again to be taking an active role in the great Potters ‘Arf. Last year more than 20 people ran and walked to raise money for UHNM Charity and as one of this year’s chosen charities, we hope that more will take to the streets of the Potteries and help raise much-needed funds to bring the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment to our hospitals.

“With five different options for people of all abilities to take part there’s never been a better time to fundraise for UHNM Charity. I encourage seasoned runners, businesses and groups and junior runners under the age of 16 to lace up their trainers and help us to improve patient care and experience at UHNM.”

Since the event became known as the Potters ‘Arf in 2005, more than 31,000 people have taken part in the race.

Anybody who signs up to run will receive a UHNM Charity running top and bespoke help and advice on fundraising and promotion from the UHNM Charity team.
