Nurse Bank's Cake Sale Bakes Colleagues Smile

Barbara Walsh, Matron for Nurse Bank and Stephanie Albutt, Senior Nurse for Nurse Bank have raised £250 for Breast Care at UHNM by holding a cake sale at work.

The pair dressed up as ‘pink ladies’ to raise the funds in just two hours on Breast Care Awareness Day last month.

Barbara said: “I wanted to do something for Breast Care who have done so much for me after surviving breast cancer three times, most recently only a couple of years ago. I want to say thank you to everybody who took the time to come visit us and taste our cakes and my colleagues who donated some to our sale.”

Helen Francis, Breast Advanced Nurse Practitioner added: “A big thank you to Barbara and Stephanie for raising this money. Without our amazing donations and fundraisers, we wouldn’t have all the extras that make patient’s journeys much more comfortable and helps them feel more supported.”
