Barlaston Golf Club has raised more than £3,000 for UHNM Charity, helping to improve patient care and hospital facilities at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford.
Captain Michael Bailey and Lady Captain Gillian Scott raised £2,300 for the elderly care unit, which provides care for patients living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia and £700 for breast cancer services throughout their captaincy between February 2024 and February 2025.
Michael and Gillian held different fundraising activities, including raffles for Easter, Captains Day, Lady Captains Day and Christmas. Donations were also received from members of the club.
Gillian said: “On behalf of myself and Michael, we were delighted to be able to hand over the cheque to UHNM. We’re incredibly proud to support UHNM Charity and the amazing work they do for patients and hospital staff.
“The support we received from our members throughout the year was fantastic, and we’re thrilled to have raised such a great amount.”
