The Acute Stroke Unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital have been able to purchase a number of Stroke Recovery Therapy Chairs thanks to UHNM Charity funding.

The specialist chairs have been designed to improve stroke recovery at patient’s bedsides.

Consultant to Give Back to A&E Colleagues

A Consultant from the Royal Stoke University Hospital is running a marathon to raise funds for his colleagues after being inspired by their work. 

Mr Vikranth Visvanathan, Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon will be tackling the Great Welsh Marathon in Llanelli on 14 April for the UHNM Charity to raise funds for the A&E Departments at our two hospitals.

Half Marathon Runners Benefit Stroke Service

Two runners have completed the Stafford Half Marathon in aid of the Stroke Service at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. 

Dr Indira Natarajan, Consultant Stroke Physician, and Iona Botfield, the granddaughter of a patient completed the 13.1 mile course in 1:36:44 and 2:06:41 respectively.

A UHNM Charity-funded and award-winning Palliative Care scheme aimed at improving communications between staff and relatives has now been fully rolled out across University Hospitals of North Midlands.

Community Spirit Raises £1,000 for Cancer Ward

A group of over 55's from a local Housing Association have raised £1,000 for the Chemotherapy Unit at County Hospital, Stafford.

Residents from the Elmwood Apartments on Co-operative Street raised the money through tabletop sales, quiz and bingo nights and raffles over the past year after a friend and fellow resident was treated in the Unit.
