Cancer Survivor's Yoga Marathon


A cancer survivor is embarking on a special fundraising challenge to thank the UHNM staff who saved her life. 

Laura Dawson will be holding a fundraising 12-hour yoga challenge in March to mark her 12 sessions of chemotherapy.

Support Group Make Equipment Donation

The patient experience offered by our speech and language therapists has been further improved thanks to long-term supporters Head Cases. 

The North Staffordshire-based head and neck cancer support group have donated £4,500 enabling us to purchase an Iowa Oral Performance Instrument (IOPI) which will be used to measure tongue strength and assist in speech and swallowing therapy following surgery.

Fundraising Consultants Complete Ben Nevis Climb

Three Royal Stoke University Hospital consultants have successfully tackled the UK’s highest mountain to raise funds to help improve patient experience at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM).

Dr Sanjeev Nayak, Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist, Dr Nageswar Bandla, Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthetics and Mr Sandeep Konduru, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon climbed the 2,500 feet up Ben Nevis in Scotland to raise funds for UHNM Charity.

NICU join UHNM Charity to mark Prematurity Day


Over 600 staff, members of the public, former patients and their families joined our colleagues from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to mark World Prematurity Day at the Royal Stoke on Monday.

Staff from the Unit were on hand to showcase their work at UHNM and raise awareness of the 15 million babies born prematurely globally every year.
