UHNM Charity Welcomes Daisychain Support

UHNM Charity welcomed Joanne, Tracy and Hayley from our partners at the Daisychain Benevolent Fund to our Children’s Department at the Royal Stoke to show them where their donations through UHNM Charity have been spent.

The Daisychain Benevolent Fund is a local charitable Trust supporting the purchase of medical equipment and training through funds raised from the sale of goods in their charity shops in Silverdale and Smallthorn.

Support from the Trust has enabled UHNM Charity to purchase a number of electronic profiling cots across our Children’s wards.

Katharine Urban, Children’s Assessment Unit Sister (second left) said: “On behalf of Children’s Services, I’d like to thank Daisychain and its supporters for their continued support of Children’s Services at UHNM. It’s thanks to their funding that we’ve been able to purchase a number of electronic cots for use across our wards. These bright and cheery cots can be set in a range of positions which make it easier and more comfortable for both family members and staff to handle and treat patients.”

Daisychain have so fair raised over £100,000 for Children’s Services through UHNM Charity, previously funding new equipment including incubators and breast pumps.

Joanne Hardiman, Area Retail Manager for the Daisychain Benevolent Fund (second right) said: “We were thrilled to visit the Royal Stoke’s Children’s Wards to see first-hand where our supporter’s money has been spent. The cots look fantastic, and we’re delighted to be making a difference to the lives of local people in our community.”
