A Crafty way to Raise Chairty Cash

The team from YMCA North Staffordshire NCS - National Citizen Service have kindly decided to raise money for UHNM Charity as part of their 2-week Social Action Project.

The group have set themselves the challenge of raising £500 for our Children's Intensive Care Unit by selling a range of handmade crafts and raffle tickets at markets across the local area.

They chose to fundraise for us after group member Kate received treatment for scoliosis last summer at the Royal Stoke.

She said: "The treatment I received was excellent, and I wanted a way of helping out and giving something back. We hope to raise a lot."

The funds will go towards purchasing items aimed at improving patient and family experience on the unit including non-standard bedding, toys and books.

NCS is a government funded initiative that brings young people from different backgrounds together to offer new experiences, providing them with the chance to discover their talents and realise their potential.
