UHNM Staff Cheers to Steelite

Steelite 4

Patients and their families across our area will soon be saying cheers thanks to a donation from a local company.

Leading tableware manufacturer Steelite International has donated five tea sets to UHNM Charity improve patient experience and comfort at both the Royal Stoke University and County Hospitals.

The sets were given out by UHNM’s Department of Nursing to teams at the Royal Stoke’s Mortuary, Ward 76a Elderly Care, Ward 228 Neurosurgery, and the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Ward 1 at County Hospital.

Julie O’Leary, Project Nurse at the University Hospitals of North Midlands said, “We’re incredibly grateful to Steelite International for their kind donation through UHNM Charity, which will improve the experience and comfort of a whole range of patients, their families and carers across our Trust. We know that hospitals can be a worrying and stressful place for many, but the little things like having a sit down, a talk, and a simple cuppa can add up to making a big difference.”

Steve Rushton, UHNM Charity Manager added, “UHNM Charity welcomes and appreciates the support from local businesses such as Steelite International, both through making a donation or by volunteering staff time. Because we’re such a large hospital Trust and cover such a wide range of health specialities, businesses are sure to find an area to fundraise for which employees hold close to their heart”.
