Consultant Paediatrician taking on half marathon

Consultant Paediatrician Dr Sheng-Ang Ho is taking on the Macclesfield half marathon on Sunday 23 September 2018 to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Team with UHNM Charity.

Dr Ho said: “Following three anterior cruciate ligament knee re-constructions I am just really pleased that I am able to run. This is the first Half Marathon I have entered, I only took up running 15 months ago having not really done any running before my accident, so any support you can give is really appreciated.”

Dr Ho wants to raise funds to purchase equipment that cannot be bought through the NHS, this includes medical equipment, games, tech and sport equipment that patients can use whilst in hospital.

Cystic fibrosis, or CF, is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine. Long-term issues can include difficulty breathing and coughing up mucus as a result of frequent lung infections. Cystic fibrosis is the most common inherited life-limiting disease and unfortunately has no cure at this time.
